The eID Viewer is a program that allows you to view the digital data on your eID card. It can be used to check the authenticity of the eID card, store identity information, copying identity information on to a web page, and change the PIN code of your card.
The eID is an electronic proof of identity (with chip) for Belgian citizens, with which you can carry out electronic transactions. You can use the eID for identification at different authorities, signing electronic documents, and securely logging in to online public services.
